DR. MALTI GUPTA
Vice President (President Elect)-2003

Dr. Malti Gupta obtained M.Ch. degree in Plastic Surgery from PGIMER, Chandigarh in the year 1973.She started, developed and nourished the Department of Plastic Surgery at SMS Medical College, Jaipur. She has organised numerous academic activities (conferences, workshops, training programmes etc.). She has also participated in similar activities, in various capacities, in India and abroad over 25 years. She is known as the “Honey Girl” for the innovative techniques she developed in the seventies for the preservation of skin grafts in honey. She was the first woman surgeon of Rajasthan and the first person from the State to have practiced in a super speciality. She holds the distinction of being the first woman President of the International College of Surgeons- Indian Section in 1997. She has done a great deal to popularize the concept of Microsurgery. Apart from this Dr. Malti has a passion for languages and has been a student of advanced diploma courses, topping her class in German, French and Russian.


Dr. Bimal Mody
Treasurer (2003-2005)


Dr. Bimal Mody is working as Hon. Plastic Surgeon and Chief of Plastic Surgery at P.D. Hinduja National Hospital. Mumbai. Dr. Mody has had his entire medical education at KEM Hospital and Seth G.S. Medical College, Mumbai. He passed his M.Ch in plastic surgery in 1984. In 1986 Dr. Mody went to Japan for Micro Vascular Surgery Training. Dr. Mody has lectured in several CME programmes. Dr. Mody was also the Organising Secretary of the 34th Annual Conference of APSI held at Goa in 1999. This is his second term as the Treasurer.


Dr. Mukund Thatte

Dr. Mukund Thatte obtained his MCh degree in 1986 from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital, Mumbai. He later trained in Edinburgh and at University College London, UK. He was a visiting Hand Fellow with Dr Strickland in Indianapolis, USA, at Hamburg, Germany with Prof. Buck-Gramcko, and with Prof. Goran Lundborg at Malmo, Sweden.He received the Junior Best Paper Award of APSI in 1986 and the Best Paper Award of British Association of Plastic Surgeons in 1989. He has published more than 25 papers and 10 book chapters, Nationally and Internationally. His current interests are Hand and Brachial Plexus Surgery, Cleft Surgery and Reconstructive Micro Surgery. He is currently working as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Bombay Hospital, Shushrusha Citizens Co op Hosp. and Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children, at Mumbai.


DR. ANIL KUMAR BEHL
Executive Member ( 2003-2005)

Dr. Anil Kumar Behl obtained M.Ch in Plastic Surgery from Poona in the year 1992. He is currently working as Head of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Command Hospital (AF), Bangalore. He is also a Senior Advisor in Surgery & Reconstructive Surgery to the Armed Forces and Professor of Surgery at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. He obtained additional training of SHO/visiting Registrar Plastic Surgery at Chepstow and Wordsley, UK in 1993-94. He was a Fellow in Cranio-facial Surgery at Southfield, USA in 1994-95 and again in 2000-2001.

DR. NIRANJAN KUMAR

Dr. Niranjan Kumar is presently working as Chief of Plastic Surgery in the Department of Plastic, Microvascular and Craniofacial Surgery at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore. He passed MS ( General Surgery) in 1977 from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore. He passed his MCh in 1981 from Madras Medical College. He was the Organising Secretary for APSICON 2002 at Bangalore.
